STEP INTO OZ
The Wizard of Oz at Sphere transforms a timeless classic into a fully immersive Las Vegas spectacle

Las Vegas audiences are in for a magical journey down the Yellow Brick Road as The Wizard of Oz at Sphere made its dazzling debut on Aug. 28. The groundbreaking production transforms the beloved 1939 classic into a state-of-the-art, fully immersive experience, unlike anything ever seen before in cinema or live entertainment.
To celebrate the debut of The Wizard of Oz at Sphere, The Venetian Resort Las Vegas has transformed its Waterfall Atrium into a magical walk-through display, free and open to the public through the end of the year. Guests can meet lifesize versions of Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, the Cowardly Lion and Glinda the Good Witch, and even step inside Glinda’s sparkling pink bubble for the perfect selfie. The whimsical journey continues with 5,000 vibrant silk poppies— a tribute to the film’s enchanted field—and themed décor at the adjacent café, where fans can also preview exclusive Wizard of Oz at Sphere merchandise.
For those who want to take the adventure even further, The Venetian Resort is offering limited-time hotel packages that combine luxury accommodations with tickets to this one- of-a-kind immersive experience. Guests can enjoy up to a five-night stay in a Luxury King or Queen Suite at The Venetian or The Palazzo, paired with their choice of up to four Standard or VIP tickets to The Wizard of Oz at Sphere. As the only resort directly connected to Sphere, The Venetian offers the ultimate way to step into Oz—both on and off the stage. Book now at www.thewizardofoz.vibee.com.
“We’re pleased to be partnering with The Venetian Resort to offer everyone in Las Vegas this unique opportunity to engage with The Wizard of Oz at Sphere,” said Bill Walshe, executive vice president, global head of venue operations and development at Sphere. “The film’s iconic characters and imagery are recognized worldwide, and we look forward to visitors connecting to the Land of Oz through this activation and building anticipation for The Wizard of Oz at Sphere.”
Patrick Nichols, president and CEO of The Venetian Resort, added, “The Wizard of Oz is a timeless film that resonates across generations. We’re proud to partner with Sphere to bring this activation to life in an immersive way, offering fans a chance to step inside Glinda’s iconic pink bubble, as well as exclusive hotel packages for The Wizard of Oz at Sphere, designed to elevate the experience for guests looking to create new memories inspired by a classic.”
But the true magic begins inside Sphere. The original film, shot in the 1930s for a 4:3 movie screen, has been reimagined for Sphere’s massive 160,000-square-foot display plane, which wraps entirely around the audience for an enveloping visual spectacle. Combined with Sphere Immersive Sound’s 167,000 programmable speakers— capable of precisely directing audio anywhere in the venue—the mono soundtrack has been re-recorded to achieve a breathtaking new clarity while preserving the cast’s iconic performances.
Audiences will also experience a new dimension of storytelling through Sphere’s multi-sensory 4D effects. From high-velocity wind arrays and atmospheric fog to towering fire bursts, infrasound haptic seats, and even swooping flying monkeys, every element is designed to transport guests into the Land of Oz as if they’re walking alongside Dorothy, Toto and her friends on their way to see the Wizard.
The Wizard of Oz at Sphere has multiple showtimes daily. For more information, visit www.thesphere.com.
