Getting More From Your Slot Club

Surprising perks and generous giveaways to look out for this month

By H. Scot Krause

Now that you’ve (hopefully) received your IRS tax refund check, how about a 5% free slot bonus for it?  Cash your IRS check, or any government issued check, at the El Cortez Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas and you’ll receive an extra 5% (up to $50) in free slot play money. This offer generally runs year round, so you can schedule a trip and hold onto your check until you make your trip.

With the rising costs of gas across the nation (some reports indicate we could see $5 a gallon by Memorial Day), Boyd Gaming can help you save at the pump.  As a member of Boyd Gaming’s B Connected slot club, you can receive a 5 cent per gallon discount every time you fill up at any one of Rebel Oil’s 50 participating stations. To receive a discount, B Connected members can swipe their B Connected card at the pump, or present the card to a cashier at Rebel Oil. No separate signup is necessary to receive discounts under the program.

Additionally, Boyd Gaming’s B Connected card doubles as a Rebel Rewards card, which qualifies members for additional savings. With Rebel Rewards, customers receive additional per-gallon discounts each time they purchase a wide range of items at Rebel Oil’s convenience stores. Discounts can be accumulated and redeemed within 30 days, allowing customers to roll back their per-gallon price as far back as zero (up to a maximum of 15 gallons). Additional information is available at www.boydgaming.com. You can locate Rebel Oil locations at www.rebeloil.com

If you’re a Caesars Entertainment Total Rewards club member who has reached the Seven Stars Club level, you might not be aware that you’re entitled to a yearly gift, or how to claim it. Members can actually choose from a variety of gifts from the comfort of their homes.

Here’s how. First, sign into your Total Rewards account at https://harrahs.com/TR. Then click on “MyTR”. On the left side of the screen, click “View My Benefits.”  Scroll down to “Extraordinary Gifts Await You.” Click where it says “click here.” This will bring you to a whole new site with all your gift selections. Or, call 1-877-7STRGIFT to place your order.

Meanwhile, Mohegan Sun in Connecticut is offering $25 in free slot play for new members signing up for their club.  Plus, from now through April 30 you can swipe your Player’s Club card once daily in Earth or Sky Promotions Center to enter to win a share of $250,000 in the “Play Around the World Giveaway.”  You have a chance to win an ultimate getaway to one of the top five casinos in the world. Plus, you could instantly win free slot play, Player’s Club points or hundreds of travel prizes.

While we often see signup bonuses, it’s much rarer to see after-loss rebates. You can find a good one at Terrible’s Hotel Casino in Las Vegas (located at Flamingo and Paradise), which offers table game rebates.  Ask for details in the table games pit area about a 5% loss rebate on losses of $500 and 10% on losses on $1000.  The casino also offers $3 craps games with 3-5x odds, and several 3:2 double deck blackjack games.

MGM Resorts International’s M life has expanded beyond being a players club and now provides benefits to all guests, in some cases transforming everyday travelers into high rollers. M life members, including non-casino customers, are now rewarded for practically every dollar they spend on hotel stays, restaurants, entertainment, attractions, spas, casinos and more at MGM Resorts’ 15 participating properties, allowing them to earn Tier Credits and additional rewards with each Tier Level. Dream vacations can be instantly shared with friends and family via popular social media networks.

M life members enjoy benefits at ARIA, Bellagio, Vdara, MGM Grand, The Signature at MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, THEhotel at Mandalay Bay, The Mirage, Monte Carlo, New York-New York, Luxor and Excalibur in Las Vegas; Beau Rivage and Gold Strike in Mississippi; and MGM Grand Detroit. Learn More about M life at their newly redesigned website: www.mlife.com.

Until next month, happy slot clubbing!
