William Hill’s mobile sports wagering app let’s Nevada bettors do their thing—from anywhere
Throughout much of America, Sunday afternoons are synonymous with sitting on the couch or at a local bar, cheering on a full day’s worth of NFL action.
For many sports fans in Nevada, the only state with legal, full scale sports wagering, no Sunday is complete without having a cell phone or tablet close by during those games. Mobile sports wagering has made having action on a game more convenient than ever before.
William Hill, the U.S. arm of the leading British bookmaker, leads the way in Nevada with its Mobile Sports wagering app. The app is compatible with virtually any iPhone, iPad or Android device.
“We feel strongly that we offer the best mobile sports wagering technology,” William Hill US CEO Joe Asher said. “We feel that offering a product like this is about convenience. We can about offer virtually the same betting product available in our sports books on your iPhone or Android. We offer the most betting options within our mobile app.”
William Hill has the state’s deepest and most diverse wagering menu. Any wager offered over the counter can also be bet from the comfort of home, the office or anywhere else within Nevada state lines.
The ability to establish an account and wager throughout the state is a major draw, as William Hill has 100 brick-and-mortar locations where accounts can be created and funded via self-service kiosks. There are also more than 40 Mobile Deposit Hot Spot locations throughout Nevada within PT’s Pub, PT’s Gold and Sierra Gold taverns, accepting cash deposits.
Another key feature of the app is the functionality to wager a minimum of $2 on parlays and teasers, making it a convenient option for any level of player.
The app was enhanced just before the start of football season. It features two key upgrades: The ability to wager on Nevada’s most expansive menu of football parlay cards and InPlay wagering on the go.
In 2013, William Hill’s menu of InPlay wagering offerings significantly expanded. Now, wagers can be placed throughout action on every NFL game, selected college football games each week plus the majority of all NBA regular season and playoff games. Odds fluctuate throughout the game and update in real time on the app.
William Hill will continue to enhance the functionality and wagering product available on its Mobile Sports app. The company also expects to add electronic funding options to make it even more convenient.
“We will continue to enhance the app and add features based the feedback of our customers,” Asher said. “But nothing will replace the electric atmosphere of a sports book and the social interaction and camaraderie among bettors. There’s just nothing like having the ticket in your hand when your team covers the spread.”
