End of an Era: Cirque du Solei’s The Beatles LOVE Takes Final Bow

Cirque du Soleil has announced that the beloved production The Beatles LOVE will be bidding farewell with its final performance scheduled for July 7 after an 18-year run. This decision comes as The Mirage resort prepares for its transition into the Hard Rock Las Vegas.

Since its debut in 2006, The Beatles LOVE has captivated over 11.5 million spectators, leaving an unforgettable mark on the entertainment landscape. Stéphane Lefebvre, CEO of Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group, expressed profound gratitude for the collaboration, hailing the production as nothing short of a masterpiece. “We are grateful to the creators, cast, crew, and all involved in bringing this show to life,” Lefebvre said, “and we know The Beatles LOVE will live on long after the final bow.”

The production premiered in the summer of 2006, with red carpet appearances by Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, alongside Yoko Ono and Olivia Harrison, wife of the late Beatle George Harrison. They reunited a year later to commemorate the show’s first anniversary.

According to Cirque, the current cast includes 11 original members from the show’s inception. More than 11,000 costume pieces are worn on show night, including 250 pairs of shoes and 225 wigs. Throughout the show’s run, audiences have been showered with 13.5 tons of confetti during the final act, which closes with the Beatles’ 1967 hit “All You Need is Love.”

As the curtains close on this iconic show, the legacy of The Beatles LOVE is poised to endure, a testament to the enduring magic of its creators, performers and all those involved in its creation.
