Are Casino Players Gravitating Back Toward PC Gameplay?

Mobile casino gaming has obviously changed how people play. You can open a game almost anywhere, and you don’t need to sit at a desk. But it’s not that casino gaming has disappeared.
In fact, desktop players can be a much more important part of online casino activity than overall traffic numbers suggest. Bigger screens, stable connections, and being able to keep more information visible at once still give PCs a reason to exist alongside mobile.
So are casino players actually moving back?
How Many People Play Casino Games on PC Compared to Mobile?
There isn’t a reliable global figure showing exactly how many casino players use PCs compared with mobile. Different reports measure things like visits, sessions, revenue, or betting activity instead, but mobile is definitely still ahead on traffic.
Casino.org’s 2025 internal data found that 71.7% of activity came from mobile devices, compared with 28.3% from desktop. That’s broader online gambling rather than casino play, but it shows how strongly mobile currently dominates general usage. (casino.org)
Desktops are more about value than traffic. A 2026 GeoComply study based on billions of geolocation transactions across the regulated US market found that desktop accounted for more than 47% of iCasino revenue despite representing a much smaller proportion of sessions. It also found that two in five desktop players used just one operator (geocomply.com).
That shows that desktop casino play is far from irrelevant.
Why PC Setups Suit Casino Gaming
Some games simply work nicely on a bigger screen.
Live casino games are a good example. A larger display gives you more room for the video stream, betting interface, chat, game information, and everything else happening at the same time. Poker, for example, is better played on a PC when players have several tables or windows open.
The same GeoComply 2026 desktop research also stated live dealer games and poker as formats that can suit larger displays particularly well. There are other practical benefits too, such as:
- A keyboard and mouse rather than touchscreen controls
- A larger screen
- Multiple browser windows
- Wired Ethernet if you want a stable connection
- Easier multitasking
- More comfortable longer sessions
None of that changes how likely you are to win. A bigger monitor doesn’t improve RTP, and a faster computer won’t make a roulette result go your way. What it will do, however, is enable you to experience the full scope of the best online slots without all those details and features being condensed onto a small screen.
The Best PCs for Gaming
You don’t need an enormous gaming desktop covered in RGB lights just to play online casino games. Most browser-based casino titles will run comfortably on a fairly modern desktop or laptop. Look for at least a decent current processor, 8GB to 16GB of RAM, an SSD, and a good internet connection.
The screen is a better consideration. A 1080p display is perfectly usable, while a larger 1440p monitor gives you more space if you’re using live casino games, poker, or keeping several windows open.
You also don’t necessarily need a dedicated graphics card purely for casino gaming. Modern integrated graphics can generally handle normal browser content and video streams, though exact requirements depend on the games and platform you’re using.
Mobile isn’t going anywhere, and the available data doesn’t show everyone suddenly returning to the desktop. But PC casino gaming still has clear advantages, especially when players want a bigger screen.
