Slot machine fans in South Indiana can rejoice in the opening of a new $90 million casino in Elizabeth. The Horseshoe Southern Indiana has been transformed from a riverboat-based property to a new $90 million casino and officially opened in December.

As part of the change, the casino has been rebranded as Caesars Southern Indiana after 18 months of construction. The new facility came as a result after the state relaxed rules requiring casinos to be based on riverboats. The state has also recently legalized sports betting.

The 110,000-square-foot property houses 1,300 slot machines, 70 table games, a 30-table poker room, and sportsbook. Also added were a new food and dining venue with five restaurants, new lounge and bar options, and more.

“Caesars Southern Indiana will elevate the experience for our guests,” Senior Vice President Brad Seigel said. “We look forward to making each visit memorable with the exceptional service, friendly team members, and thrilling gaming and entertainment that our guests have come to love at our home here in Southern Indiana.”

The new property will be of interest not only to residents of the Hoosier State, but also casino players and slots fans in the nearby states of Kentucky and Ohio.
