A NEW STAR RISES IN CENTRAL CALIFORNIA
After More Than Two Decades, North Fork Rancheria’s Casino Dream Becomes Reality

The unveiling of California’s newest gaming destination, North Fork Mono Casino in Madera, CA, has been in the works for more than two decades. The Department of the Interior granted the North Fork Rancheria of Mono Indians a 305-acre plot of land into trust for the benefit of the tribe in 2013. Managed by Station Casinos, construction on the new $725 million property broke ground in September 2024. After years of hard work and tremendous support from the community, the casino is set to open this month.
Madera is in the central San Joaquin Valley of California, about 30 minutes northwest of Fresno. The property’s location is central to its identity. Situated directly adjacent to Highway 99 between the Avenue 17 and 18½ exits, it places the casino at the crossroads of some of California’s most traveled routes. Its strategic location positions Madera as a new destination for guests traveling from Bakersfield, Fresno, Sacramento, the Bay Area and communities throughout the Central Valley, while also putting the city within easy reach of new visitors, businesses and opportunities.
Those taking a trip to the new casino will find the best local gaming and dining experience in the region. The property boasts 100,000 square feet of dedicated gaming space with over 2,400 slot and video poker machines, 40 table games, eight dining options and four bars.
Guests can expect one of the region’s most diverse gaming selections, featuring everything from the newest in-demand slot themes to beloved classic favorites, ensuring something for every style of player. The High Limit room offers an exclusive and intimate gaming experience, complete with its own private bar and dedicated cashier for added convenience and personalized service. Additionally, guests will find more than 4,000 parking spaces, complimentary valet service, free EV charging, and dedicated parking for RVs, trucks and buses.
Property Highlights
Visitors to the casino will experience an inviting property that is noticeably different from other gaming facilities. From the moment guests arrive at the valley’s newest casino, dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows at the entrances fill the space with natural light, creating an open, welcoming atmosphere, unlike the dark, closed-off, traditional casino environment.

The site’s grandeur comes to life through its refined ambiance and elevated décor, creating a sense of luxury that feels both sophisticated and welcoming. North Fork Mono Casino took inspiration from the land surrounding the property, and paid homage to its splendor by incorporating its natural beauty throughout the property. The Sierra foothills inspired the names, themes and overall feel of the casino floor, restaurants and bars.
From rich copper tones and warm woods to granite textures and marble finishes, guests are immersed in an inviting and refined atmosphere. That vibe begins immediately at Whiskey Falls, positioned at the literal heart of the action. This architectural masterpiece blends the thrill of the casino with the sophistication of a world-class cocktail lounge. Sweeping 360-degree views look out over the high-stakes energy, while the glowing marble bar keeps guests anchored in a pocket of elevated hospitality.
Two more reasons to raise a glass: Rock Creek and Willow Creek. Inspired by the scenic waterways near North Fork, CA, these lively gathering spots invite guests to meet up, unwind and enjoy draft beers, premium cocktails and daily drink specials.

Dining is an experience all its own, with something to satisfy every craving. Guests can enjoy a range of dining options, from quick-service bites in the Food Court and game-day fare at Clubhouse 99, to upscale fine dining at Manzanita Steakhouse.

For the ultimate high-end night out, indulge in exquisite culinary creations and artisanal cocktails, all wrapped in the warm, ambient glow of live piano music at Manzanita Steakhouse. The steakhouse takes its name from the California Manzanita, a native plant known for its striking red bark, sculptural beauty and resilience. This is the casino’s flagship restaurant, showcasing the best of Central California, with a menu rooted in locally sourced ingredients and a robust wine selection of more than 250 labels curated by a master sommelier. Fine dining, fire-grilled craftsmanship and warm hospitality are all part of the Manzanita Steakhouse experience.
Clubhouse 99 is a sports bar with 56 large-screen TVs and more than 20 local and imported beers on tap, making it a complete game-day destination for live sports action. Whether it’s a championship showdown, rivalry game or watch party with friends, guests can catch every big moment on massive screens while savoring crave-worthy bites and local craft brews.
For those on the go, the Food Court offers six fast-casual concepts steps from the gaming floor. Guests can explore Cafe Asia, a vibrant destination offering bold flavors and comforting Asian favorites; Chick Republic, serving crispy chicken ranging from hand-breaded tenders and wings to signature sandwiches; Smash Stack Burger, bringing premium ingredients to perfectly seared patties and delectable sides; Pizza Fiore, featuring artisanal Neapolitan and Sicilianstyle pizzas; and Kopiah, serving freshly brewed coffee and pastries. The property also wanted to bring a taste of the Central Valley to the Food Court, making local favorite Fuego Mexican Kitchen a natural fit. This Mexican food spot brings a fresh, authentic menu to the casino in its highly anticipated second location.
Preparation for Opening

Casino staff hit the streets of Central California and surrounding areas, appearing at concerts, local businesses and cultural events to meet future guests and invite them to join North Fork Mono Casino Rewards before opening in October. Guests were able to bring in their active tier two or above Rewards Card from any casino for an instant upgrade to their highest tier. This promotion ran all summer leading to opening, allowing guests the opportunity to be ready to play as soon as the doors open.
People and Purpose
Great design and memorable experiences are at the heart of North Fork Mono Casino. But according to General Manager Mark Ward, the property’s greatest achievement is its people. “The tribe waited more than 20 years for this day, and our job was to make sure it was worth the wait,” says Ward. “What I’m most proud of isn’t the size of the casino. It’s the 1,500 team members we’ve brought together to create experiences guests will remember long after they leave. We’re creating opportunities, raising the bar for entertainment in Central California, and building something our community can be proud of.”
